Photographs can of course also be glued without the use of Diasec® on the front.

Mounting and hanging

For a sturdy back, you can have your photo glued to dibond or aluminium. We use the best possible adhesives that ensure a durable adhesion.
If desired, a satin film on the front provides protection. With our hanging system, you can then hang the work directly on the wall.

Dibond

We recommend dibond with a thickness of 2, 3 or 4 mm as material for mounting Fine Art prints and photos.

We expressly prefer dibond to aluminium because aluminium is more fragile. Dibond is a particularly rigid and light material.

Dibond is a plastic PE layer with a 0.3 mm aluminium layer on both sides. This rigid sheet material does not bend and remains flat in case of temperature fluctuations..

For a museological effect of your work, we can advise 3 mm acrylate and 4 mm dibond.

Maximum size:

  • Dibond 3mm up to 150x625cm
  • Dibond 4mm up to 206x610cm

Aluminium

An aluminium sheet 1, 1½, or 2 mm thick is particularly suitable when used in a frame where the frame filling must be minimal.

Yet we prefer to recommend dibond 2 mm because aluminium is more fragile to handle and transport. With larger formats, this is a definite risk.

The weight of 2 mm dibond and 1 mm aluminium is virtually the same!

Without a frame, floating in front of the wall, dibond is in a class of its own.

Laminating

As protective film we offer exclusively a satin film, whereby the textured surface of the photo becomes invisible.

It is advisory not to choose glossy films as it has the characteristic that an orange peel skin is visible.

If the choice is made for a gloss finish, we therefore recommend exclusively Diasec® for super high gloss!

Framing

In order to prevent a photo from bulging or wavyness because it is hanging loose in the frame, it is better to mount it. That is why many framers also use our mounting service.

You can also have your work framed by us, possibly with a passe-partout.
