As a subsidiary of Wilcovak, VDP Digital Imaging is the address for the professional photographer and artist with a personal approach. Everything for the self-printing photographer is available at VDP Digital Imaging. We act as our own test centre, since we are users of the equipment and materials ourselves, we know how important it is to choose good products. You can experience materials and printers yourself in our showroom.

We distinguish ourselves through knowledge and experience, because at Wilcovak we experience many types of photo prints. As a photographer, why do you choose a particular brand of printer and photo paper? We have plenty of experience, because we process a variety of photo paper every day. We print for a large number of professional image makers.

EPSON for the perfect photo print

A professional has high requirements in terms of the qualities of the photo print. It starts with working with good printers, such as the Epson: new types Epson Sure Color. Of course, you should use the original Epson UltraChrome HDR Ink so that the ICC profiles are also applied correctly!

Canson Infinity for archival prints without OBAs

Then one has to make a choice for the photo paper or Fine Art paper. VDP Digital Imaging has made a conscious choice by choosing Canson Infinity, next to the regular brands in the Dutch market such as Hahnemuhle and Epson. We find it important to make a choice for quality by thinking about OBA’s which are sometimes used in paper. (OBA’s are whitening agents that cause discoloration after a number of years, because they get worn out)

Through our worldwide contacts via Wilcovak, we were tipped to work with Canson Infinity. This brand has a large share of the Fine Art market in America and Australia. It also turned out to have a centuries-old tradition in paper making and to have no OBAs. Since the Photokina 2012 VDP is importer for the Netherlands.

Eizo for the right colour

Finally, the working environment is important. Use good software to make printing easier and more efficient, such as Mirage. In addition to a good PC/Mac, a well-calibrated monitor, such as EIZO, is essential for getting the printout as the monitor displays it. Colour Management should therefore not be missing at all. With our xRite measuring robot, we create your own ICC profielen for your printer paper choice.

Norm-light for checking

Ultimately, norm light, such as Just’s, is essential for the correct assessment of your prints. With a light source of 5000 degrees Kelvin.
